Terbinafine HCl Film-Forming Spray for the Treatment of Topical Fungal Infections

Abstract: Terbinafine HCl is an allylamine used to treat fungal infections. It has substantial side effects that can be mitigated by using a topical semisolid dose form. The objective of this study was develop 1% film-forming spray formulation developed combining polymers, penetration enhancer, plasticizer, and suitable solvent system. central composite design with 3 independent variables 2 dependent implemented optimize the formulation. put through its tests assess container-related parameters such as pH, angle, pattern, density, volume delivered for one actuation evaporation time. From study, it observed concentration ethyl cellulose Eudragit RSPO greater influence on viscosity solution, whereas eutectic mixture drug permeation followed polymers. also tested various fungi, found showed better fungicidal activity than marketed product achieved triple action. stability studies have shown optimized stable temperature 25 ± 2°C RH 60 5(six months) visual appearance concluded formulated highly efficient in treating transdermal infections when compared traditional dosage forms.
